Llygaid sy'n Cusanu yn y Corneli (Eyes that Kiss in the Corner)

A Welsh adaptation by Casia Wiliam of one of The New York Times best sellers. This is a lyrical and emotional story about a young girl that notices her eyes look different to some of her friends' eyes. Her friends have big, oval eyes with long eyelashes, and she notices that her eyes kiss in the corners and fold like two crescent moons. Her eyes are exactly like her mother’s, her grandmother’s and younger sister, and they’re full of stories from the past and full of hope for the future.  

This is a Welsh adaptation of the English book that was originally published in 2021. When telling the story of a girl from a Chinese family, some terms are kept in the original language. ‘Mama’ means mam, and ‘Amah’ means grandmother in different areas of Asia, especially in China. Younger sister in Chinese is ‘Mei-Mei’. 

Drawing strength from these influential women in her life, she discovers beauty in her own unique qualities. This is a book that celebrates diversity and the importance of self-love. The book is part of ‘Rhyngom’ series – Connecting People Through Books, funded by the Welsh Government through Books Council of Wales.
